As opposed to the mucosa associated lymphoid tissue, the lymph node is encapsulated. The lymph node can be divided into two main parts, the cortex and the medulla. The follicles (primary and secondary follicles) are predominantly within the cortex. The B-cells are mainly in the follicles while the T-cells are predominantly found in the interfollicular areas.
