Alkylating agents

A family of cytotoxic agents that are used in treatment of certain hematologic neoplasms. Their mechanism of action involves altering DNA and interfering with replication and transcription. Patients treated with these agents are at long term risk of developing other post treatment neoplastic disorders (e.g. Myeloid disorders such as MDS and AML).
