Allopurinol

Brand name: Zyloprim is a purine analog drug used to treat hyperuricemia such as in the setting of gout. Rare but potentially fatal side effects include Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Can cause severe pancytopenia when used with azathioprine or mercaptopurine.
