Gray platelet syndrome

AKA Alpha Granule Deficiency is a rare inherited bleeding disease that is due to loss of alpha granules in platelets. Recall, alpha granules contain the larger molecules such as PDGF, PF-4, Fibronectin and vWF (as opposed to delta or dense granules that contain the smaller molecules such as serotonin, ADP, ATP and Calcium).
