Plasminogen

Plasminogen is a zymogen produced by the liver and released into the circulation. Plasminogen is cleaved by enzymes such as tissue-plasminogen activator (t-PA) to form plasmin. Plasmin (a serine protease) is then responsible for degradation of fibrin clot, a process known as fibrinolysis.
