Granulocyte transfusion

Used for those with severe neutropenia, granulocyte transfusions are collected from directed donors or from pooled apheresis donations and must be ABO compatible with the recipient--not because of the granulocytes themselves but because of the amount of incidentally transfused red cells present in the product.
