TRALI
Also known as transfusion related acute lung injury. It is a transfusion reaction which includes symptoms of acute dyspnea, hypotensiona and fever occuring during or within six hours of a transfusion, and which causes a pattern of lung injury resembling acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) on x-ray. TRALI is thought be immune-mediated by human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies and/or human neutrophil antigen (HNA) antibodies present in the transfusion.
