- Very large erythroid precursor with intensely blue and often vacuolated cytoplasm
- Nucleus with viral changes: Pale to moderate purple inclusion-like nucleoli or inclusions
›Normal % blood-PB, marrow-BM, lymphoid tissue-LN:
- PB: None
- BM: None
- LN: None
›May Resemble:
- Pronormoblast
- Basophilic normoblast
- Myeloblast
- Metastatic Carcinoma cells
›Differential Diagnoses:
Malignancy (e.g. MDS)
CMV infection (typically involves WBCs)
