Afibrinogenemia

Afibrinogenemia and hypofibrinogenemia, refers to absence or reduction in the amount of the clotting factor fibrinogen in the blood. This is seen in rare instances as an inherited disorder, but more commonly it is seen with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
