Agranulocytosis

An adverse reaction that is usually due to certain drugs that leads to severe neutropenia and may be followed by fever and sore throat. Untreated, it may be deadly. Many drugs can cause agranulocytosis including but not limited to certain antibiotics, anti-thyroid medications, antihypertensive drugs, antipsychotic drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, anticonvulsants, hypoglycemic drugs, and antidepressants.
