Argatroban
Belongs to the class of univalent direct thrombin inhibitors, which also include Melagatran and Dabigatran. Called univalent because they bind only to the active site of the thrombin molecule. Used to treat Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia and can be monitored through PTT. It is cleared by the liver and therefore can be used in patients with renal insufficiencies.
