Coagulopathy
This usually refers to a bleeding or clotting disorder which is typically secondary to an impairment of the blood's ability to form a thrombus (clot). Mostly the defect or deficiency of the coagulation factors leads to an increased risk of bleed (e.g. Hemophilia A due to factor VIII deficiency or vW disease due to a defect or deficiency of vW factor) but sometimes the deficiency may lead to an increased risk of thrombosis (clottting) such as in Factor XII deficiency.
