Granulation tissue

A reparative process in tissues that is usually post-injury. Eventually, the goal of the injured tissue is to form a granulation tissue and ultimately recruit fibroblasts and lead to fibrosis. Not to be confused with granuloma (granulomatous inflammation) which by definition is a collection of epithelioid histiocytes.
