Hypersegmented neutrophils

These are neutrophils with more than 5 lobes (so 6 or more lobes. Recall, normal neutrophils should have 3-5 lobes). Hypersegmented neutrophils are most commonly associated with B12 or Folate deficiency (two common causes of a Macrocytic Anemia).
