E antigen
The E antigen belongs to the Rh antigen system. Anti-E antibodies are usually formed in response to transfusion or pregnancy. Anti-E antibodies are clinically significant and can cause acute or delayed hemolytic transfusion reactions, if the patient is challenged with antigen positive blood, or hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN).
