INR

a.k.a International Normalized Ratio is a method to standardize the PT due to the variations between different batches of manufacturer's tissue factor that are used in the PT test. The normal range for INR is 0.8-1.2. Risk of bleeding increases with elevated INRs (see PT. see Coumadin.)
