Lymph node

A peripheral or secondary lymphoid tissue where B-cell migrate to complete their maturation (B-cells undergo somatic hypermutation and class switching of heavy chains in the germinal center of secondary follicles in lymph nodes and other secondary lymphoid tissues such as Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue and spleen). Mature B-cells could ultimately become plasma cells or memory B-cells in the lymph nodes or other secondary lymphoid tissues. Additionally, the interfollicular areas of these secondary lymphoid tissues are mostly comprised of mature T-cells.
